Physical Therapist Owned and Directed      High Quality Conscientious Care      Full Hour Appointments
Our Vision

Who We Are:
Eastside Sports Rehabilitation, PS, PLLC was formed in April of 2003 by two of the current practicing physical therapists, Lisa van Loben Sels, MPT and Michael Yamashita, PT. In order to create an ideal setting for superior patient care, ESRC has aimed to hire only the best physical therapists with the finest post-graduate education and training.

The vision for our clinics was founded on the principle of high quality, conscientious patient care. Our practice emphasizes manual therapy skills, functional rehabilitation principles, and a broader knowledge base with regard to the role of biomechanics in musculoskeletal pathology that we have developed over 70 years combined training in the field. We have honed expertise in the treatment of spinal pathology, sports injuries, and post surgical rehabilitation for the spine and extremities. Over the years we have cultivated niche specialization in a number of areas including: biomechanical analysis/orthotic application (particularly in relation to sports rehabilitation and spine care), as well as physical therapy for pre and post natal care, dance therapy, Pilates, pediatrics and treatment of tri-athletes, runners, and swimmers.

We are proud to say that due to the fast growing rate of our client base over the last three years, we found it imperative to expand our services to include a new, larger location. Due to the 7,300 square foot expanse of the facility, we have been able to widen our services to include massage therapy and naturopathy. In the near future we will also offer occupational therapy, nutrition and wellness, acupuncture, and cooking courses.

What Makes ESRC Different?
Our clinics are non-corporate, they are PT owned and directed. All treatment sessions are one hour in length. This is distinctly different from the traditional model in which patients are scheduled on the half hour. This affords us more time to provide appropriate care which will ultimately result in more effective treatment and shorter duration of the rehabilitation process. Our clinics have the widest hours of operation including Saturday appointments. This is ideal for patients who are unable to attend physical therapy during the week due to a busy work schedule and/or school conflicts. No aids or assistants, which allow the patient to receive one on one care. Our PT's combined training adds up to over 70 years, with a wide range of specializations, certifications, and credentials.

Our Mission:
ESRC's mission is to be the leader in physical therapy care in the greater northwest region. We are committed to combining the extensive knowledge and skill set of our therapists with the most sophisticated treatment techniques available to provide individually tailored, cost effective care. Our commitment to quality, conscientious care will produce successful outcomes and long lasting results that will eliminate pain and bring functional movement back into the lives of our patients.

Our Philosophy:
In order to provide the highest quality of care, we compile a detailed history of patient pain and disability and analyze relationship of symptoms to their everyday activities and lifestyle.

We believe in a patient-therapist relationship based upon mutual respect and communication. In order for us to treat you effectively, you must play an active role in your care by communicating your complaints, suggestions, and concerns. We feel it is imperative for our patients to be educated about their condition in order to ensure the most successful results with the lowest recurrence rate.

We understand the suffering and limitations caused by your pain which in turn prevents you from participating in everyday activities and hobbies. It is our passion and mission to do everything in our power to help you overcome your pain and reach your maximum potential.

Why Physical Therapy?
Physical therapists are experts in how the musculoskeletal and neuromuscular systems function. Physical therapy services are cost-effective. Early physical therapy intervention can prevent more costly treatment later, can result in faster recovery, and reduces costs associated with lost time from work.
